The scientific community considers the lipid nanoparticles as very promising delivery system, as shown by the many research groups working meanwhile with SLN and NLC. Lipid nanoparticles already made it to the cosmetic market. This proves the makeability of products and of large scale production ability – both being important prerequisites for a pharmaceutical product. Various companies are working with these nanoparticles, and this decade will now show if the lipid nanoparticles reach the final goal: pharmaceutical products.
